Inocencio De Leon Cantu

After a protracted battle with cancer, Inocencio DeLeon Cantu died on June 27, 2016 in Indio, CA at the age of 69. He leaves behind his wife, Francisca DeLeon; his daughters, Maribel, Annabel and Lorena; and his sons Gerado, Eduardo and Abraham.

Inocencio, "Chencho" was born on December 28, 1946, in General Bravo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, to father Conrado DeLeon and mother Benita DeLeon, who predeceased him. He grew up in a large, loving family with four sisters and four brothers.

Inocencio married Francisca Estrada on November 4, 1969 in Earlimart, Ca. They shortly relocated to the Coachella Valley where they lived, worked and raised their six children.

Inocencio was a driven, hardworking individual who always put his family first. He was a simple man who enjoyed to spend time with his loved ones. He had a love for football "Go Cowboys", Tejano and Rhythm & Blues music. When diagnosed with colon cancer in 2015, he remained dedicated in his will to fight his illness. He remained a brave, strong-willed man, who kept his sense of humor even throughout his final months.

Inocencio is survived by his wife, children and 11 grandchildren, as well as his sisters, Olga, Oralia and Mary; his brothers, Conrad, Americo and Oscar; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Noelia; and brother Harry.

After the funeral service on Wednesday July 6, 2016, family will be hosting a reception at the Eagles Lodge, 46425 Tyler St in Coachella, CA 92236. We look forward to see everyone together to celebrate Chencho's life.
