Ina Tedford (née Sapp), was born at home on a farm in Lake Village, Indiana on December 23, 1943, and passed away surrounded by family, on January 02, 2024 at the age of 80 at a senior care facility in Yorba Linda, California from complications due to Alzheimer's. Prior to the year she spent in Yorba Linda, Ina had resided in Vista, California, though she had lived for many years in both Diamond Bar and Placentia, California.
Ina's husband of 43 years, Ted, passed away in 2011. She is survived by her two daughters, Elaine Tedford de Neef and Jennifer Tedford Veltri, sons-in-law George de Neef and Joseph Veltri, grandchildren Anna de Neef, Alex de Neef, Madeleine Veltri, and Cameron Veltri. Ina is also survived by her two stepsons Jeffrey Tedford and Douglas Tedford, daughters-in-law Berrien Tedford and Rebeca Chavez Tedford, and grandchildren Ross Tedford (Stephanie Tedford), Brendan Tedford, Laura Tedford Packard (Aaron Packard), Emily Tedford, and Allison Tedford. Ina has three surviving sisters, Marcia Sapp Meltzer, Leta Sapp Speer, and Vergie Sapp Gibson Laggos (Keith Laggos), as well as her nieces and nephews: Roberta Meltzer Scheidt (Bernie Scheidt), Derek Speer, Matthew Gibson, and Natalie Gibson Howard (Eric Howard), and many grandnieces and grandnephews.
She graduated from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona with a degree in accounting while mothering two teenagers. Ina worked for many years in several different industries from government contracting to real estate development to bicycle manufacturing and importation.
Ina was a very kind and generous soul, who had a great talent for lifting the spirits of those around her with her wonderful sense of humor and compassionate heart. She was also very clever, and frequently found creative ways of approaching life's problems. Her easy laugh and beautiful smile will be fondly remembered by those whose hearts she touched.
She was deeply loved and will be missed tremendously.
