**********

Imelda Navas, was born in the city of Santa Ana, El Salvador on July 30, 1941. Daughter of Manuel Silverio Munguia and Julia Irma Navas. She was the second eldest daughter followed by her now deceased eldest brother Francisco Ernesto Navas (Tio Neto), followed by sister Maria Cristina Pleitez, brother Manuel Rene Navas, brother Jose Alberto Navas, sister Ana Del Carmen Hernandez, and baby sister Dina Magdalena Jacobo.

She had a beautiful childhood with her family. As a young adult, she showed a lot of sense, responsibility and discipline towards her family. At the age of 18, her father passed away which brought great sorrow to her mother and siblings. She received basic education which helped her get her first job in El Salvador as an apprentice at Santa Ana Commercial Printshop. Followed by a secretary position at Duran Express Travel Agency.

At the age of 22, she met her first love - Jose Raul Fonseca, producing two sons - her eldest Jose Raul Navas and a year later came Jose Francisco Navas. Taking care of her children gave her a purpose in life.

In January 1973, she made one of her dreams come true by coming to America to the city of Los Angeles, California making it her permanent residence. Her mission was to strive for a better life for herself, her children and her family. She set the foundation in assisting her siblings by first, bringing her brother Manuel Rene Navas to America. She made it an effort (which was difficult to do at that time) to go back home twice to Santa Ana, El Salvador to visit her sons, her mother and family. She then brought her sister Ana del Carmen followed by her sons. Thanks to her efforts and commitment some of her family members like her nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces and her grandchildren were able to be born in America. The entire family owes her much gratitude for being in America and becoming American citizens.

Her last job that she retired from was at The Weingart Center in Los Angeles, California as a housekeeper. She made some great friendships, like Amparito Garcia and Alicia Monroy. She also met Armando Garcia, who was a very special person in her life until the very end.

Imelda Navas was a meticulate person, especially in the way she dressed, her jewelry, her taste in perfumes and her collection of designer sunglasses. She always made it an effort to attend all family and friends functions. She had the privilege of taking a trip to Europe with her loving son Raul and daughter-in-law Reiko Navas. She visited Barcelona, cities in France, Italy, Rome, Venice, Naples, Istanbul, Athens and other parts of Greece. It was a memorable time for her.

Imelda Navas was a good daughter, grandmother, aunt, sister, mother-in-law, but overall she was a loving and caring mother to her children. Imelda will remain in our hearts forever.
