Ignacio M. Garingan

Amang passed peacefully from this life the evening of October 13th after a gradual decline in health. He was surrounded and supported by his loving family during the last days of his life. Amang was born in Rosario, Pozorrubio, Pangasinan, Philippines. In 1964, he arrived in the United States making his permanent home in Los Angeles, California.

He was a man of honor and integrity, forgiving, honest, caring, loving, humble, and deeply spiritual. It was a testament of his strength of character and deep devotion to the Christian faith that aided him in overcoming the hardships in his life. His unselfishness was never-ending, always considering the needs of others before his own. His mantra was "do unto others as you would have them do unto you." He exemplified these traits in his daily life and imparted his teachings to all those whose lives he touched.

Amang is survived by his wife, Maria of 70 years, his 6 children: Lydia, Constancia, Joseph, Arsenia, Nellie, and Harvie; 11 grandchildren: Flor (deceased), Ann, Jennifer, Joe, Ronald, Nerissa, Dennis Jr., Kasseia, Christina, Austin, and Aydin; 7 great-grandchildren: AJ, Justine, Kalani, Christopher, CJ, Crystal, and Cassandra. He is also survived by his sister Leonora.
