Ida Bonnevie, a loving mother, grandmother, beloved sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2024, in Fullerton, California, surrounded by the warmth and love she instilled in her family. Born on December 7, 1943, in Manila, Philippines, Ida embraced life with a radiant spirit that was felt by everyone who met her. She was the daughter of Estanislao and Dominga and grew up with a joyful heart that continued to bless those around her well into her later years.
Ida's personality shone through her beautiful smile, which welcomed and embraced each person she encountered. She had an extraordinary gift for making people feel at home, whether at a family gathering or a simple conversation. One of her most treasured roles was that of grandmother. She delighted in spending time with her grandchildren, ensuring that every gathering was filled with laughter and enough food for seconds, thirds, and even fourths. The holidays were particularly special, as she created countless memories with her family, nurturing them with both love and delicious home-cooked meals.
She is survived by her devoted children, Victor, Patricia, and Isabelle, who carry forward the values and love she imparted to them. Her legacy lives on vibrantly in her grandchildren—Kevin, Gabrielle, Brandon, Justin, Jayson, Jordan, and Jaiden—who were the light of her life and a reminder of the joy she brought into the world.
Her siblings, Herminia, Priscilla, and Christopher, also remain as heartfelt connections to her memories. They recall Ida's generosity and laughter, which had the power to light up any room. Her joyful spirit was infectious, and her family knows that her love will continue to guide them as they navigate life without her comforting presence.
Ida was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Victor Edward Bonnevie, along with her parents, Estanislao and Dominga, and her siblings, Henry, Nenita, Cecilia, and Stanley. The strength of their love and the bonds they shared will echo through the lives of those who remain.
As those who loved her gather to celebrate a life so beautifully lived, they will carry Ida's spirit forward, remembering every smile, every meal shared, and the endless love she poured into her family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and remember her during two funeral services. Ida’s Celebration of Life will be held on September 7, 2024, at 9:00 AM at Forest Lawn - Cypress - Patriots Chapel, followed by a reception and her Niche Service will be held on September 10, 2024, at 2:30 PM at Forest Lawn - Cypress.
Ida Bonnevie will forever remain in our hearts, a beautiful soul who lived fully and loved deeply. Her legacy will continue to guide and inspire us in the years to come.
