Hwa Kon Oh

It is with a heavy heart that the family of Hwa Kon Oh announces his passing on November 15, 2019 at the age of 90 years. His final days were spent surrounded by family who loved him dearly.

Hwa Kon Oh was born on March 5, 1929. His life experiences brought him from South Korea to California, where he ultimately settled with his wife to be closer to his children and their growing families.

Hwa Kon Oh is lovingly remembered by his wife (Pok Yae Oh), children (Soon Byun [husband Fred Byun], Jake Nam Oh [wife Myung Hee Oh], Sue Kim, Elaine Park [husband David Park]), grandchildren (Grace Byun, David Byun [wife Pauline Byun], Grace Kim [fiancé David Kim], Edwin Oh [fiancée Christina Choi], Diana Park [fiancé Andrew Kim], and Elliott Park), and great grandchildren (Michael and Evan Byun) as an immeasurable presence in their lives - gentle yet strong, silent yet vibrant.

A celebration of Hwa Kon Oh's life will be held at the Church of Our Fathers in Forest Lawn, Cypress (4471 Lincoln Ave, Cypress, CA 90630) on Monday, November 25, 2019 at 9:00 AM. A reception will follow.
