Hugh Yao

Hugh Yao, 40, born on December 5, 1974, passed away November 24, 2015. He is survived by his wife, Tessa, and daughter, Stella, age 11. He is also survived by his parents, John Dao and Linda Lam, and siblings Daniel, Serena, and Emily. He resided in Glendale, California for over 30 years. He earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from UCLA in 1996, his Professional Engineer's license in 1999, and a Master's degree in Business Administration from USC in 2003. He started working for the Southern California Gas Company after graduation and remained there for his entire career. He was also a Commissioner at Glendale Water & Power from 2007 to 2015, serving as President in 2010 and 2014. He trained in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Tae Kwon Do. Hugh loved family, travel, and UFC. He will be missed by all that knew him.
