In the early morning hours on Friday, March 29th, 2024, Howard “Howie” Dale Page, at the age of 95 years old passed away peacefully in his sleep under the watchful care of the hospice team at the Rowland Convalescent Hospital in Covina, California.
Howard lived a long and blessed life and touched many along the way with his gentle soul and happy demeanor that was always ready to greet you with a kind smile and playful chuckle. Howard was born September 19, 1928 in the state of Illinois, Father: Walter Fred Pigusch and Mother: Edith Pauline Killmer.
Howard and Edith moved West to warmer climates in sunny Southern California where they bought their La Puente home in 1955 and it was there that Howard spent the rest of his 69 joyful years of life.
Howard graduated with a Business Degree in Accounting and successfully worked as an Accountant for the majority of his long career through to his retirement in 1969. Howard loved photography and loved to travel and see the world so it was after his well-deserved retirement at age 55 that he chose to spend a months long adventure solo traveling the globe to his heart's desire.
Later in his retirement years he spent much of his time enjoying life and socializing with other seniors at the local senior community center, Intervale Bassett Senior Center, which is where he met his lovely wife, Patricia Page. Their relationship blossomed and they soon got married in March of 1998 making this year, Thursday, March 14th, 2024 their 26th year of blissful marriage. Howard's marriage to Patricia brought the happy extension of family into Howard's world which now includes Patricia’s four grown children, their spouses, 9 grand children and 6 great grand children.
From the year of their marriage, to well into their 80s the happy couple took many memorable trips—they travelled to Paris and London together in their 70s, they took the Amtrak on a 33 hour each way adventure to Seattle from LA, bused it aboard a Greyhound with fellow family and friends to Las Vegas and Laughlin—all these trips continuing Howard’s love of travel.
Howard was the sole child of Walter and Edith and he is survived by Patricia and extended family members.
