He leaves his wife, Rowena Hou; his daughter, Bonnie Hou; his son, Simon Hou; two grandsons; and many close friends.
Howard was born in Shanghai, China on April 28, 1941 and raised in Shanghai and Hong Kong. In his early years, Howard met his wife, Rowena, in their youth and spent their childhood as best friends. They grew up, fell in love, and were married in Hong Kong. After having one daughter and one son, and many happy years, the family immigrated to Los Angeles in 1987. Howard retired in 2012 and spent many more happy years caring for his grandsons, Alex and Natty, alongside his wife.
A funeral service will be held on March 9, 2017, at 10:00 am at Forrest Lawn, Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles, California.
