Howard Cromer

Mr. Howard E. Cromer, 85, of Cypress, CA, died on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, peacefully at his home.  He was born on August 14, 1939, in the village of Scotch Bush, in the town of Ephratah, in Fulton County, New York.  He was the son of Peter and Edith Gleason Cromer. Howard was a graduate of Oppenheim-Ephratah Central High School, and earned an Associate of Arts Degree from Long Beach City College, in Long Beach, California.

Howard maintained a strong Christian faith, and over his lifetime he was active with his family in church and the Boy Scouts.  He served 30 years in the US Navy, achieving the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 4.  He was retired from the Long Beach Naval Shipyard.  He enjoyed traveling around the country and going camping with his family.

Howard is survived by his wife of nearly 61 years, Eva, and his sons Steve, and his wife Heather Cromer, and Ken Cromer; his sisters Joyce Klemczak and Elva Lynch; grandsons Matthew Cromer and Timothy Cromer; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Howard was predeceased by his 5 brothers and 4 of his sisters.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 2:00 PM, at the Patriots Chapel, Forest Lawn, Cypress, CA, followed by a military burial outside.
