Howard Calvin Jarvis

Howard was born in Detroit, Michigan, graduated from Warren High School and received his teaching degree from Michigan State University. He moved to California in his late 20’s, teaching elementary and middle school in both states.  

He enjoyed life so much. His biggest interest was music, playing instruments and entertaining his friends. He was a pilot and co-owned a plane. He was a competitive roller-skater. He enjoyed bike riding and motor cycling, visiting most of the states in the U.S. on his motorcycle.  

He moved into Leisure World in 1996 and was very helpful to all who lived there.  

He was very devoted and very generous to his family back in Michigan and loved them all.  

His family and friends will miss him greatly.  

He is the beloved brother to Mary Lou (Ernie) Domenick, predeceased by Father, Samuel Jarvis; Mother, Charlotte (nie Wicker) Jarvis; brothers Edward Jarvis and Leonard (Monica) Jarvis. Loving uncle to Robert Jarvis, Scott (Sandy) Jarvis, Amy (Mauricio) Cota, Valerie (Thomas) Rinke, Brenda (David) Imrick, Rene (Richard) Battani, Jennifer Finn and predeceased by Robert Finn, Jr. He has many, many great nieces and nephews and three great, great nephews.  

Howard will be in-state at ST. Lawrence Catholic Church in Utica, MI on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. mass. Procession will follow mass to ST. Lawrence Cemetery where he will be buried.

May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen
