Hoshang Parivar, 79, born on September 27, 1943, in Tehran, Iran, passed away April 6, 2023. He resided in Shadow Hills, CA at the time of his passing. Arrangements are under the care of Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills, CA.
He was the husband of Ulla (Rosenqvist) Parivar. The couple celebrated their 54th
wedding anniversary on August 19, 2022. Together they have a daughter, Roya Parivar.
Born in Tehran, Iran, he was the son of the late Hossein Parivar and Soror
(Motevally) Parivar. In 1963 he moved to Los Angeles to attend college. He graduated
from Woodbury University with a B.S. in Architectural Interior Design.
Hoshang moved his family shortly after Roya's birth to Iran where he served one year as an officer in the Civil Engineering branch of Iran's armed forces. In 1974, they returned to Los Angeles where Hoshang started a small construction
company after he obtained his contractor's license. Shortly after, he began his career as
an engineer for a construction company that specialized in upgrading hospital x-ray and
imaging facilities. In 1982, he joined Lightolier Corporation, and ultimately became the
Vice President and Division General Manager of its California operations during a
distinguished 27 year career.
He retired in 2009 and kept busy in retirement managing his property and tending to his
gardens and the resident wildlife at his home. He loved watching the birds and the
squirrels while the sun set outside their living room window.
His love for his family and friends ran deep and he wholly enjoyed spending as much time
as possible with them. His curiosity and his interest in people continually led him to
make new friends and his care for them kept them close. His greatest joy was to spend
time with his granddaughter Vivian, who was the light of his life.
Hoshang is survived by his wife Ulla; their daughter, Roya, and her husband Matt
Wersinger and granddaughter Vivian Wersinger; his two sisters, Helen Ritz and Homa
Akhavan, and their husbands; his brother, Homayoon Parivar; and his nieces and
nephew. He was predeceased by his nephew, Kiomars Ebrahimzadeh.
He was a great man, who will live on forever in our hearts.
