She is survived by her husband, two children, daughter and son in law, grandson, a brother and two sisters.
She was born in Vietnam and was amongst the 1st group of students to study in Australia where she met her husband.
Mrs. Levan taught Vietnamese for the Australian military whilst attending Melbourne University. She graduated with a BA in Political science.
Hoai Lien and her family later settled in Los Angeles where her husband taught at UCLA.
She was a compassionate, gentle soul, gifted with an immense generosity of spirit. Hoai Lien lives on in our hearts and memories.
A Buddhist ceremony was held at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills. A service for her was held on November 12, 2020.
