Hill (A.K.A. Virgilio) Jesalva Maniquiz

Hill (a.k.a. Virgilio) Jesalva Maniquiz, resident of Los Angeles, CA, died on September 15, 2020 at the age of 63.

Hill was born to Monico Maniquiz and Norma Jesalva on November 6, 1956 in Quezon City, Philippines. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of the East. He married Maria Estrellita in June 1984 and immigrated to California, to where his wife and eldest daughter followed a few years later. He subsequently had two more daughters. He worked for the Chatsworth branch of the USPS for over 30 years.

Hill cherished family and friends dearly. He cooked for them at every opportunity and took photos to remember each moment. He was also an active member of the Maniquiz/is/ez/kis family reunion planning committee.

Hill is preceded in death by his brother, Valeriano Maniquiz, and his mother, Norma Jesalva Maniquiz.

Hill is survived by his wife Maria Estrellita "Marileth" Castaneda Maniquiz; his children Vir-Iaesta "Iaizza" Maniquiz Vergel de Dios and her husband Rogel James, Monica-Lee "Molee" Castaneda Maniquiz and her fiancé Robert Ketchum, and Justhine-Gia "Red" Castaneda Maniquiz; and his grandchildren, Noel Gijay Maniquiz and Lily Marie Maniquiz Vergel de Dios. He is also survived by his father Monico Maniquiz; sister Josephine, and brothers Victorino, Monico Jr., Michael, and Marc David; in-laws; nieces; and nephews.

Condolences may be offered at PO Box 8281, Northridge CA 91327. In lieu of flowers, any monetary offerings received will be distributed to Hill's charities.

Funeral services will be held outdoors at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills at 6300 Forest Lawn Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90068 at Old North Church on Friday, October 2, 2020 at 2:00 pm PST. Hill will be cremated and interred into his final resting place on October 7, 2020 at 3:00 pm PST. Please wear a mask while visiting. We also recommend you bring an umbrella/hat, fan, and chair for your comfort.
