Hieu Thi Nguyen

Maria Nguyen Thi Hieu passed away on September 30, 2024.  She resided in Claremont, CA at the time of her passing. Hieu was born on March 2, 1920 in Quang Binh, Vietnam.

 Maria Nguyen Thi Hieu was preceded in death by her parents: Nguyen Mong (father), Pham Thi Buong (mother) and her brothers Nguyen Xuan The and Nguyen Dinh Van. She is survived by her sister Nguyen Thi Vi.

 She is survived by her beloved husband, Tran Xuan Toai, her nine children, thirteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Maria Nguyen Thi Hieu was a loving and caring wife and a loving mother to her nine children. She was a devout Catholic woman, who loved God above all else and she instilled strong ethics and values in her children. She was a member of the Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, Claremont, CA, for more than 30 years. She loved saying the rosary, going to the daily mass and helping out at various church events. She attended many life events of her children, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, her community friends and their children. We were all very blessed. She was loved by all.

Maria Nguyen Thi Hieu loved gardening and cooking for her family and grandchildren. Although she doesn’t have much, she was a very generous person and always ready to help those in needs. She will be missed tremendously by all those who knew her.
