Herminigildo “Hermie” Talam (53) was a loving and Godly husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He left this world to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 14, 2023, at age 53. His battle with cancer in the recent years displayed his courage and absolute trust in Jesus. Amidst the suffering, Hermie remained joyful, enduring to the end and finishing well.
He was born on December 21st, 1969 to Marcelino Talam and Rosita Santos. He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines where he met the love of his life, Glenda. They were married in Quezon City, Philippines, then moved to the United States and settled in Norwalk, California. Together they built a home with their children, Selah and Ceejay, built lasting friendships, served their church, battled cancer, and enjoyed and shared their many blessings.
Hermie was a diligent and excellent worker, most recently in Purchasing at the Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District, and as the hub leader of his local church, CCF SoCal South. He was a dependable and trustworthy colleague and fellow brother who blessed those around him with his dedicated, joyful service.
If there was anyone who loved life and enjoyed it with those he loved, it was Hermie. His pot roast and bangus sisig were always a hit at parties. He and Glenda enjoyed hosting meals at their home and throwing fun, memorable birthday celebrations. And in almost every party that had lively music, you would see Hermie dancing exuberantly and gracefully. He prioritized spending quality time with his loved ones and friends, as he wept with those who wept and rejoiced with those who were joyful.
Hermie is survived by his wife, Glenda, their children Selah Dursun and Ceejay Talam, his son-in-law Serkan Dursun and his mother, Rosita Santos. He will be greatly missed by his siblings, relatives, colleagues, and friends. His life and legacy will always be remembered and serve as an encouragement to love and trust Jesus, and to finish the race that God has set for him.
