Henry Peter Barretta
August 3, 1928 — January 31, 2014
Henry was the son of Alfredo Barretta and Addolorata DeSantis. After growing up in Taranto, Italy during World War II, he returned to the United States as a young man. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, was injured, and was honored with a Purple Heart.
After his honorable discharge, Henry worked in New York City, where he met and married a pretty young Irish woman named Mary. He attended Pace College (now Pace University) at night, receiving a Bachelor's degree in Accounting. After his graduation, the family moved to California.
Henry is survived by his daughters Linda and Susan Barretta, and by his sister Gemma Pileri, niece Rita Pileri, and grandneice Angela Pileri of Bari, Italy.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Covina, California.
