Atkinson, NH: Helen (Makos) Karopoulos, 97, of Atkinson and formerly of Cambridge and Hingham, MA, died on January 28, 2015.

She was born in Boston, MA as worked as a hostess at Pier 4 in Boston as a young woman. In her later years she was a housewife and homemaker for her late husband, Peter Karopoulos.

Mrs. Karopoulos and her husband were active politically in the Republican Party. They were also benefactors and members of the Friends of the Kimball Library of Atkinson. An avid reader, Mrs. Karopoulos and her late husband both enjoyed many hours at the library taking advantage of the wealth of knowledge available to them.

She was the wife of the late Peter Karopoulos and the sister of the late Bette Arthur. She is survived by several friends in the Atkinson area.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mrs. Karopoulos's Funeral service on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at 10 a.m. at the Holy Apostles Saints Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church, Haverhill, MA. Burial will be in the National Cemetery, Bourne,MA. Arrangements are under the direction of Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Plaistow, NH. Memorial donations may be made to Salemhaven Long Term Care and Rehabilitation Center, 23 Geremonty Drive, Salem, NH 03079.
