Hampstead, NH: Helen C. (Hedderman) Gates, 68, a resident of Hampstead since 2004, was pronounced dead on arrival at Parkland Medical Center in Derry after being stricken at her home on Friday, June 3, 2016.

Born, raised and educated in Kansas City, Missouri, daughter of the late James and Kathryn (Sack) Hedderman, she graduated from Saint Pius X High School with the Class of 1965 and attended a local business school.

A resident of Odessa, Missouri from 1988 until 2004, Mrs. Gates was employed as an Office Manager and Bookkeeper at Heritage Motors. She attended Saint George's Parish and served as a CCD teacher, a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader and a volunteer for the Parks Department.

For the past twelve years, Mrs. Gates has been employed at Thermo-Dynamics and attended Saint Anne's Church in Hampstead. She enjoyed Elvis Presley music and playing cards and was an avid reader. She thoroughly enjoyed being a grandmother and crocheted baby blankets for her family and friends.

Predeceased by her husband Joseph Gates in 1988, she will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Michael Dionne of Woburn, Massachusetts, three sisters, Diana Hedderman of Flint, Michigan, Mary Barr of Gladstone, Missouri, and Betty Hedderman of North Kansas City, Missouri, two grandchildren Emma Dionne and Michael Dionne, a niece and nephews and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Life Celebration to be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Route 121A, Plaistow, NH. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Saint Anne's Church, Emerson Avenue, Hampstead, NH. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Food Pantry of Saint Anne's Parish, 26 Emerson Avenue, Hampstead.
