Plaistow, NH: Helen E. (Gorham) (Hall) DeRoche, 73, a resident of Plaistow for over thirty-five years, died Friday, December 4, at Bedford Hills Center, Bedford, NH.
Born, raised and educated in Portland, Maine, daughter of the late John and Camilla (Ciazzo) Gorham, she attended Portland High School, and was a member of the Parish of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. She worked for several years as the Secretary and Clerk of the City of Portland Health Department.
Mrs. DeRoche moved to Plaistow in 1976 and was employed at Pentucket Medical Associates and later as a clerk and cashier at Osco Drug in Plaistow.
A longtime and active member of the former Holy Angles Parish of Plaistow, she was a member of the Women's Guild of the parish and was also a member of the prayer group, the Christmas Bazaar Committee, and several fundraising groups in the parish. She also supported local Pro-Life groups and volunteered for the People Helping People program of St. Jude Council of the Knights of Columbus.
Mrs. DeRoche was predeceased by her first husband James B. Hall in 1968 and later by her son, Vincent A. Hall. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Gina C. (Hall) Despres of Windham and her fiancé Lewis Gould, and Michelle M. (DeRoche) Mencer and her husband William, of Mystic, CT., her three sons, Stephen J. DeRoche and his wife Maryellen of Braintree, MA, Nicholas S. DeRoche of Plaistow and John J. "Jay" DeRoche and his wife Kate, of Plaistow, two brothers, John P. Gorham of Westbrook, ME, and Michael Gorham of Portland, ME, a sister Patricia "Patsy" Curran of Westbrook, eleven grandchildren, one great-grand-daughter, and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by a sister Maryanne French, and brothers James and Thomas Gorham.
Relatives and friends are invite to attend Mrs. DeRoche's Life Celebration to be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow NH. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10a.m. in Holy Angels Church of Saint Luke the Evangelist Parish, Plaistow. Her burial service will take place at a later date in Calvary Cemetery, Portland, ME. Donations in her name may be made to The Vic Geary Center, 18 Greenough Rd.
