Helen C. Chin

Helen C. Chin, 80, born on August 19, 1937, in Swatow, China, passed away peacefully May 22, 2018 in her home in Huntington Beach. In 1959, Helen and her sister Joyce left Hong Kong for America to study at Mankato State University in Minnesota, where Helen graduated with a B.A. degree in Business Administration and Sociology. After graduation, Helen moved to Chicago with her husband James and raised 3 sons. After living in Chicago for 14 years, the family moved to Glenview, IL in 1977. She worked at Bankers Life Insurance as an accountant for over 20 years. After a few years working at Allstate Insurance in Northbrook, IL, Helen retired. Helen moved to Huntington Beach, CA in 2004, where she resided at the time of her passing. Helen enjoyed sewing, knitting, watching Chinese soap operas and playing Mahjong. Helen is survived by her husband of 55 years, James; son, Philip and his wife Sandie; son, Jeffrey; son Perry and his wife Lily; granddaughters, Melissa, Michaela and Deana. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Cypress, California.
