Plaistow, NH: Helen F. (Reardon) (Serratore) Araskiewicz, 94, a resident of Plaistow for the last fifty-two years, died peacefully at her home, Tuesday, August 4, 2015, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Haverhill, daughter of the late Martin and Mary (McCalliog) Reardon, she attended local schools. She worked first in the local textile industry, and later at the Fanny Farmer Shop on Merrimack Street in Haverhill. She retired from Western Electric Co. of North Andover, after several years of service.
A member of Saint Luke the Evangelist Parish of Plaistow and a former member of Saint James Parish of Haverhill, Mrs. Araskiewicz was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She enjoyed hosting weekly cookouts for her family and friends at her home, bowling as a member of area leagues, baking, cooking, shopping, playing cards, dancing, traveling and trips to Foxwoods.
Predeceased by her first husband Joseph Serratore in 1960 and her sisters, Alice DiVencenzo and Kay Burnham, she is survived by her loving husband of fifty-four years, Alfred "Fred" Araskiewicz, a son John J. "Jack" Serratore of Haverhill, a daughter Judith Ann O'Connell of Haverhill, a step daughter Nancy Dorman of Dracut, her former daughter-in-law, Robin Serratore of Atkinson, a brother John Reardon of Camerillo, California, three grandchildren Shane Brandy, Michael Serratore, and Jennifer Phillips and her husband Kevin, five great-grandchildren and one great-great grand-daughter, and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Life Celebration to be held on Friday, August 7, 2015 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Route 121A, Plaistow, NH. Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 9a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10a.m. in Holy Angels Church of Saint Luke the Evangelist Parish, Plaistow. Burial will follow in Holy Angels Cemetery. Donations in her name may be made to The American Cancer Society.
