December 31, 1943 — January 10, 2018

Heidi Sabordo Bakabak, 74, of Encino, CA, fell asleep in death (Acts 13:36) on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Valley Presbyterian Hospital after a sudden illness.

Heidi was born in Iloilo, Philippines on December 31, 1943 to the late Rizalino and Rosario (Macairan) Sabordo. She married Felicisimo Salcedo Bakabak and he preceded her in death in June of 1990. Both of them happen to be the 2nd eldest of nine children; two of her sisters preceded her in death, Aurora Sabordo and Daisy (Sabordo) Gaston.

With her youngest son, M-R, Heidi was an active publisher of the Queen Anne Tagalog Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses in West Los Angeles. She looked forward to the fulfillment of Jehovah God's promise of the resurrection: "Thy dead live, their bodies will rise again. They that sleep in the earth will awake and shout for joy; for thy dew is a dew of sparkling light, and the earth will bring those long dead to birth again."—Isaiah 26:19, The New English Bible.

She was very proud of her family, especially her sons. Heidi was a loving and faithful woman who had a fondness for memorizing all 50-State capitals. A jokester, she loved to laugh and eat. Beb, Bebe, Babe, Baby, Bart, 'Catcha', King, Rabad, and 'Vulture' were nicknames she was affectionately known by.

She is survived by her two sons, Jet Sabordo Bakabak and his wife, Miriam, and M-R Sabordo Bakabak; her siblings, Edna Mae Sabordo, Louie and Esther Levi Sabordo, James and Aurora Sabordo, Richard and Ahde Jane (Sabordo) Go, Hanz Howard and Gunith Sabordo, and Sheila Sue Sabordo.

A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses, 1232 Queen Anne Place, Los Angeles, on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 10:30AM with her son, Jet Sabordo Bakabak, officiating.
