Hector Jose Mercado

Hector Jose Mercado, 76, born on December 31, 1945, in Los Angeles, CA, United States, passed away September 23, 2022. He resided in Montebello, CA at the time of his passing. He is survived by his 2 brothers , 2 sisters, his wife of almost 50 years, daughter, son, son in-law, daughter in-law, and his grandson.

Hector was a dedicated and loving family man. He met the love of his life, Margarita, in Mexico City in 1968. After 4 years of courtship, they married on December 31, 1972. He then went on to father 2 children, Mary and Hector Alex.

He spent his whole life providing for his family. Never being one to turn down a job or a new challenge, he would be remembered as one of the hardest working persons anyone has known. He worked all his life providing for his family, ensuring that they would have better opportunities to make a better life than he had. He would go on to see his family expand with the addition of his son-in-law, Gene Baca, and his daughter-in-law, Mueni Mercado.

The crown that topped his head was his grandson, Hector James Mercado. For the last 10 years of his life, he dedicated himself to being the best grandpa a kid could ever ask for. Giving everything he had, he made sure that his grandson knew how much he loved him.

He loved watching movies and spending time with his family. Nothing would make him happier than putting on an old movie and having a coke and some snacks. Chill time with his grandson was also a treat. From Rocky to Cobra Kai, he loved the simple things in life and looked forward to every minute.
