Harve Schiffman

Harve J. Schiffman, aged 81, an Upland resident, born on April 14, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois, passed away on August 6, 2024. He was known for his passion for bicycling, enjoying nature, and his skill as an amateur photographer, capturing the essence of life’s fleeting moments through his lens. Harve’s parents, Von and Ted Schiffman, with his brother Ronald and sister Kathy, predeceased him. Harve graduated from Beverly Hills High School in 1961 then from UCLA with a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology in 1965. Thereafter, he worked for the LA County Department of Public Health from 1965-1968 when he enrolled in Loyola Law School where he earned his Juris Doctor in 1971.

Harve was admitted to the CA Bar in January 1972 and practiced law for more than 50 years. He was in private practice in San Francisco until 1974, when he was hired by the San Bernardino County Public Defenders. He remained there until 1985 then went back to private practice serving the Inland Empire. He opened the Euclid Law Center with his partner and wife, Therese M. Zartman, with whom he practiced until 2022 when Harve voluntarily retired.

Harve is survived by his wife, Therese, his daughter Ericka, granddaughter Haley, and great granddaughters Cora and Margot. Ericka and her family live in Exeter, England. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Patricia Noonan, Aggie Goodcare, Mary Zartman, brother-in-law Pat Zartman (wife Sharkie) and Dr. Charles Zartman, nephews Matthew (Grace), Gian (Shirley), Jason (Kathy), Brendon (Di), nieces Teri (Jim), Chrissie (Bryan), Brenna (Chang-ku), great nieces Rachelle, Sophia, Clara, Ziva, great nephews Malcolm, Calvin, Bodie, Tate, and multiple cousins, extended family and dear friends.

There will be a service for Harve at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 1350 Via Verde Avenue, Covina, CA at 12 noon on Monday, August 19, 2004.
