East Hampstead, NH: Harry L. Goss, 82, of East Hampstead, NH., died peacefully on April 18, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. Harry was born on July 29, 1933 in Chicago, Illinois, the only child of Harry and Bernice Goss.
Harry is survived by his beloved and loving wife of sixty years, Claudina, his daughter, Denise, and her husband, Richard, of Stonington, CT, his son, Edward, and his wife Margaret, of Wilton, NH, and seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved and adored unconditionally.
After proudly serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, Harry returned to Chicago and then to Hampstead, NH, where he served in various capacities in plant maintenance and electrical operations at a number of major U.S. manufacturing companies. He spent more than twenty years at the Anheuser Bush brewery in Merrimack, NH. In retirement, he was a loyal and active member of the American Legion, the Knights of Columbus and a candlepin bowling league in Nashua, NH.
Harry, affectionately known as Pop, loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren, for whom he was their greatest cheerleader, attending every horse show or hockey game he could. Pop was incredibly outgoing, warm and friendly, enthusiastically engaging everyone he met. He was truly selfless, always putting others first. His unconditional kindness and joy of life will be sorely missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, April 23rd, at St. Anne's Church, 26 Emerson Avenue, Hampstead, N.H. The service will be followed by a reception and celebration of Harry's life in the Church Hall. All are welcome to join us for the service and/or the celebration.
