Harold Bruce Knapp was born October 21, 1942, to Harold Cowles Knapp and Dorothy Alma Knapp.
Harold (Bruce) was born in the city of Long Beach, California and was raised in Lakewood, CA with his younger brother John.
Bruce graduated from California State University Long Beach (CSULB) with a Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering Degree in 1966.
During his college days, Bruce also worked at North American Aviation / Rockwell International as an Engineer helping to design the heat shields and the mechanical door entry of the Saturn V Apollo Space Capsule.
After college, Bruce transitioned into a 30 year career working at the Southern California Gas Company, where he eventually became Superintendent of Natural Gas Transmission of Southern California.
On August 25, 1967, Bruce was married to wife Pamela of Lakewood California. Soon after the wedding, they moved into their first 3 bedroom house in Cerritos California and had their 1st child Kenneth (Ken) in 1970. Later they moved to Central California (Visalia) and had their 2nd child (Wayne) in 1974. In 1977, they moved to El Centro CA, then later to Westminster CA, and then in 1984 moved to their final home in Calimesa California, where they continued to raise their family and grow old together.
In addition to his everyday work, Bruce was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved hunting for ducks with his Dad, brother, sons, grandkids, and friends. He was also a golfer, weather enthusiast, world traveller, BIG story teller, and family man.
Bruce loved his family dearly and taught them to be strong, responsible, respectful, devoted, and hardworking.
In 2018 Bruce was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. He fought hard every day after with surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy for 15 straight months. On July 31, 2019, Harold Bruce Knapp passed away⦠He was 76 years of age.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Pamela Mae Knapp; his younger brother John Richard Knapp; his two sons Kenneth Bruce Knapp and Wayne Alan Knapp; his daughters-in-law Lori Knapp and Caryn Knapp; and his grandkids: Travis, Joe, Emma, Ava, Brad, and Ford (Wolfy) Knapp.
Bruce had a wonderful life filled with a loving family and friends. He will be greatly missedâ¦
