H. Raymond Klein, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many, died on October 4th, 2012, at the age of 87, in Newport Beach, Calif. Born in Springfield, Ill., to immigrant parents; Philip and Lilly Klein, Raymond graduated from Lanphier High School, soon after enlisting in the U.S. Navy. He served in World War II as a navigator on an LST ship. After leaving the Navy, he graduated from Washington University in St. Louis, Mo., earning a B.S. in Accounting, followed by a C.P.A. certification. He later established the firm of Klein, Brown and Carter in Springfield, Ill. He was involved with numerous businesses and entrepreneurial ventures throughout his life. Raymond is survived by his loving wife, Alyce; son and daughter-in-law; Philip Klein and Amy Jester, daughter and son-in-law; Dana Klein Kavy and Sol Kavy and daughter and son-in-law; Lisa Klein Gildar and Jack Gildar, grandchildren; Lynashley Gildar, Adam Gildar and Myles Carlin Klein. Funeral services were held at Forest Lawn Chapel, Cathedral City, on Tuesday, October 9th, at 3:00pm. Raymond was a supporter of the Jewish Federation and the Anti-Defamation League. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Jewish Family Services, 801 East Tahquitz Canyon Way, Palm Springs, CA 92262.
