Harold Jordan

1930 — 2025

Harold Jordan was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and, in his final year of life, a great-grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marna; his sons, Stephen and Mark; his four grandchildren, Kristin, Erik, Brandon, and Hilliary; and his great-granddaughter, Midge. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael.

Marna and Harold were married for 74 years, sharing a lifetime of love and joy. They lived in the same home in Burbank from 1951 until moving together into an assisted living community. Harold loved to tell stories from his 95 years on this earth — like the time he ruined his mother’s sewing machine by trying to add perforations to soda crackers, or one of his many Santa stories. (If you are not aware, Harold made appointments for children to meet Santa.

Harold proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He later became an owner of Jay Manufacturing Corp., a family business founded by his father in 1944. After retiring, he and Marna traveled across the United States in their fifth-wheel trailer.

Harold was a man of service and community. He was a DeMolay, a Master Mason, a member of Optimist International, a Scout Leader, and a devout member of the Magnolia Park United Methodist Church for over eighty years. He could often be found in the church or lodge kitchen cooking for hundreds, hosting lasagna dinner fundraisers with Marna in their backyard, or grilling hamburgers on the school playground for PTA carnivals.

One of Harold’s lasting legacies was helping to found Home Again LA (formerly Family Promise), now in its 15th year of operation. The organization is proud to continue the compassionate work that Harold began, laying the foundation and providing aid to over 200 unhoused and low-income families each year. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Harold’s memory to Home Again LA at https://givebutter.com/HALADonation.A private graveside service for immediate family will be held on December 3 at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills. A celebration of Harold‘s life will take place after the holiday season.
