It is with deep sadness and immense gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Hai Thi Tran—a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother—on April 3, 2025, at the age of 92. She passed away peacefully in San Jose, California, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born in Vietnam, Hai Thi Tran was a woman of remarkable strength, determination, and compassion. Her life was a powerful example of a mother's devotion, and the sacrifices made out of love. Seeking a brighter future for her family, she bravely left her homeland to begin a new chapter in America. Her courage laid the foundation for the success and prosperity of future generations.
A gifted cook and natural provider, she worked tirelessly in restaurant kitchens, bringing joy to many through her delicious meals. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to open her own bakery kitchen, turning her culinary passion into a way to support her loved ones. The comforting aroma of her food and the memories of her lovingly prepared dishes will always remain with us.
More than her talents in the kitchen, she was the heart of her family. She offered not only wisdom and affection but also steadfast support to everyone around her. In her later years, she embraced the role of caregiver, devoting herself to nurturing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her home was a place of warmth, filled with favorite dishes and open arms.
Hai Thi Tran is survived by her 9 devoted children, 8 adoring grandchildren, and 3 cherished great-grandchildren. Each of them carries her fierce spirit, values, and enduring love.
While we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the extraordinary life she lived. Her journey from Vietnam to the United States speaks to her resilience and the boundless love she had for her family. Her legacy lives on through the lives she touched, the traditions she passed down, and the unwavering care she gave.
Though she is no longer with us, her memory will live on forever in our hearts. May she rest in eternal peace.
