Gurdip Inder Singh

Gurdip Inder Singh, a mother, grandmother, health educator, and leader within the Indian community passed on the evening of January 22, 2020. She leaves behind a son, a daughter, two granddaughters, numerous friends, relatives, and a community she deeply loved.
Mrs. Singh, widow of the recently departed Inder Singh, worked tirelessly with several Indian community organizations over the last 45 years.
Mrs. Singh was a Registered Dietician, Certified Diabetic Educator, with a Masters in Nutrition and Heath Education, who worked for Kaiser Permanente for 40 years. She combined her vast knowledge of nutrition tied with her culinary expertise of the Indian diet and delivered knowledge on a healthy Indian cuisine. This knowledge was shared at health fairs, Gurdwaras, and Mandirs.
Mrs. Singh partnered with her husband and many others to encourage higher education, as one of their many passions they created the Indian American Heritage Foundation (IAHF) 34 years ago. The event recognized and rewarded talented Indian American middle and high school graduates.
Mrs. Singh will be deeply missed; her legacy lives on in our hearts and minds.
Services will be held at Forest Lawn, Church of the Recessional, 1712 S Glendale Ave, Glendale, CA 91205 on Friday, February 7, 2020 at 10:00 am - 11:30 am.
Kirtan will held later on Friday at 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm at Khalsa Care Foundation, 9989 Laurel Canyon Blvd, Pacoima, CA 91331.
