Guadalupe M. Velasquez

Guadalupe M. Velasquez, 75, passed away on January 9, 2015 with her family by her side in Palm Springs, California. She was born March 13, 1939 to her parents, Reyes Angel Mercado and Dolores Tamayo Mercado in Calexico, California. She was a proud Alumni of Calexico High School and later married Efrain R. Velasquez of twenty years, and moved to the Coachella Valley. She was the caring mother and survived by Xavier Velasquez, Adriana Gutierrez, Sylvia Ochoa, Alma Velasquez and Mario Velasquez. She is preceded in death by her eldest son Efrain Velasquez Jr. and daughter Celina Juanita Velasquez. She had nineteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Guadalupe was a longtime resident of La Quinta, California for thirty-six years. Visitation will be held, Thursday, January 22, 2015 ~ 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Coachella Chapel, Coachella, California. Funeral Mass held, Friday, January 23, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. St. Francis de Assisi, La Quinta, California. Graveside to follow at Coachella Valley Cemetery, Coachella, California. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn Indio.
