Gregory Blain Winchell

Gregory Blain Winchell, 64, born on September 25, 1951, in Los Angeles, California, passed away December 30, 2015 in the city of Placentia where he had resided for over 25 years. He had just completed 20 years of service at St. Joseph Hospital in Orange, and was looking forward to attending the longevity awards banquet in 2016.
He had a great fondness for all animals that was reciprocated. Nearly any animal he came across took to him instantly, and any family pet eventually became his no matter whose pet it was. His favorite hobby was genealogy. He spent many years researching his family's history and maintained a large collection of historical documents and an extensive family tree.
Among his other favorites were episodes of California's Gold with Huell Howser, John Wayne movies, and Star Trek. He cared very deeply about his family and often went above and beyond to help them when needed.

He is survived by his sister Carolyn and his niece Kimberly, both of whom will miss him dearly.
