Grace Francisca Nelson

Grace Francisca Nelson, 97, born on June 11, 1917 in Farwell, Minnesota passed away September 12, 2014. She resided in Alta Loma, California at the time of her passing. Grace was a fire cracker; she left the farm after eloping with her husband Jim Nelson in the late '30's. They moved to the Los Angeles area in 1942 working at Lockheed and later the backbone of many successful business ventures by her husband. She enjoyed spending time with her sister Evelyn helping and meeting the Service men who were shipping out or on furlough during the war. Grace loved a party, dancing and being around a good time. She was a lucky lady in bingo as a "Bingo Queen" and had a green thumb growing beautiful roses, ferns and plants. Grace always had a poodle or a small dog which would not leave her side and was a lover of animals (except lizards). Grace was an exceptional cook and would create wonderful Christmas dinners, providing memories her grandchildren pass on to their children, but she was most known for her cinnamon rolls. Later in her life Grace lived with her son and his wife in Alta Loma after living in Granada Hills for nearly forty years. Her name says it all, Grace. Preceded in death by husband Jim Nelson; Survived by her son Richard Nelson (Margie Nelson); Grandsons Richard Nelson Jr (Wanda Nelson) Tim Nelson (Holly Nelson) Greg Nelson (Jeanne Nelson) Marcus Nelson (Jana Nelson); Great Grandchildren Kevin Nelson, Callie Nelson, Caleb Nelson, Spencer Nelson, Jenna Nelson, Madeline Nelson, Nathaniel Petrovick, Jacob Petrovick, Grace Nelson, Dillen Nelson, Haddie Nelson and Ramsey Nelson. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles, California.
