Grace E. Davis

Grace E. (Hubley) Davis, 83, a resident of Port Charlotte since 1977 and a former longtime resident of Plaistow, NH, died Friday, February 3, 2012 at her home.

Born in Plaistow, daughter of the late Harold and Alma (Vose) Hubley, she attended the Pollard School and Sanborn Seminary.

She worked as a school bus driver for the Timberlane School District and Merrick Transportation Co and assisted her husband in the operation of the former Davis Garage on Main St.

Mrs. Davis moved to Port Charlotte thirty-five years ago and was employed as a real estate agent for Randolph Realty of Port Charlotte.

An avid bowler and member of several leagues, Mrs. Davis was a fan of all Boston sports teams, especially the Boston Red Sox.  She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the First Baptist Church of Plaistow.

The widow of Donald K. Davis and mother of the late Edgar W. Davis,  she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Donald A. and Mirta Davis of Salem, NH, two daughters and sons-in-law,  Grace E. Ireland and Peter McCarn of Hampstead, NH, and Janice A. and Larry Lanier of Okeechobee, FL, a daughter-in-law, Margaret Davis of Hampden, ME, eighteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends may call on Thursday, February 9, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Route 121A, Plaistow, NH. Her funeral will be held on Friday, February 10, 2012, at 10 a.m. in the Rockingham Church, 90 Newton Road, Plaistow, with burial to follow in Plaistow Cemetery.
