Gloria Anita Jones

January 30, 1937 — May 11, 2021

Gloria Anita Jones, beloved mother, step-mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed peacefully at her home in Los Angeles surrounded by family. Gloria affectionately known as Tina to her siblings was born in Hartland District, Parish of St. Catherine, McCooks Pen, Jamaica West Indies to Ethline Henry and Oscar Ellis.

At age 13 she migrated to the colony of British Honduras now called Belize live with her grandparents. It was in Belize that she met her husband, William "Bill" Jones, deceased. In 1967 wanting to make a better life for her children, Gloria migrated to the United States of America, eventually making Los Angeles her home.

Gloria was a very loyal and committed friend and worker, looking out for friends and family in like manner. She worked for years as Supervisor of Housekeeping at Sunray East Convalescences Home and was also actively engaged with the JumpStart Programme for kids.

She loved life and was an avid fan of horse racing. Her friends would often enjoy spending time with her at the racetrack. She will surely be missed.

Cherishing Gloria's memory are her seven children, four sisters; twenty grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren, eleven great-great grandchildren; six step--children, a host of extended family, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many loving friends.
