Gloria Graham

Gloria Graham, age 97, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on the evening of February 18, 2023.

Gloria was born on February 5, 1926, in Port Arthur, Texas, to Nicolas and Isabel Barbour, who immigrated from Beirut, Lebanon. She spent her childhood in Port Arthur with her parents, 3 sisters and 4 brothers, plus aunts, uncles, and cousins. As a young woman she enjoyed working at the Texas Oil Company until her family moved to Los Angeles where she attended business college and then worked as an administrative assistant in a large LA firm.

She met her husband, Orville Jr Graham in Los Angeles, fell in love, and married on August 27, 1950. They were married for 54 years until his death on December 5, 2004. She is survived by her three children and their families; daughter Gail Graham and granddaughter Caroline Smith, daughter Lynda and son-in-law David Teems with grandchildren Emily and Sean Teems, son Dennis and daughter-in-law Elaine Graham with grandchildren Kaitlyn Graham-Corbett and husband Curt Corbett, and Landon Graham and wife Bobbie LaRoque. She also leaves behind many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Gloria and Orville raised their family in a suburb of Los Angeles, Eagle Rock, CA. For Gloria, sharing the gospel with her family as well as the neighborhood children was very important to her, so for many years she taught Sunday School, first at Eagle Rock Disciples of Christ Church, and then at Eagle Rock Baptist Church. In addition, she worked for World Vision US until they moved to Washington State, and then for World Vision International in Monrovia, CA. She loved working at WV and considered everyone at both locations her good friends and second family.  

Gloria Graham's graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 16th, at 3:00pm at Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills; 6300 Forest Lawn Drive, LA, 90068.
