Glen Meldon Powers

Glen Meldon Powers, 88, born on September 9, 1926, in Los Angeles, California to Franklin H. Powers and Elinor C. Powers. Glen had three sons by his first wife Martha R. (Irvin) Powers, Gary M. Powers (deceased), David G. Powers (deceased) and Edward F. Powers who survives. Glen had eleven grandchildren whom brought much joy to his life. He is also the great grandfather of 18. He served as a Merchant Marine during WWII as a mid-shipman. He graduated from UCLA with a bachelor's degree in accounting with a minor in business law. He retired from his bookkeeping service in 1983. He and his second wife, Jacqueline (Healy) Powers (deceased), moved to Oakland, Ore. where they lived during early retirement. He is a survivor from tongue cancer after surgery in May of 2001. He has lived at Kansas Adult Family Home in Vancouver, WA for the past 10 years. He passed away November 21, 2014. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Glendale, California.
