Ginger Souza Bonnar 1949 - 2024

Ginger Souza Bonnar, 75, a resident of The Lakes Country Club in Palm Desert, died on July 25 at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs after a two-week stay. Ginger was born in Alameda, CA on July 19, 1949 to Daniel and Florence Souza. She graduated from Alameda High School in 1967 where she made a number of life-long girlfriends. Her career included work as a paralegal and as a human resources professional, the last 20 of her working years at Kaiser Permanente, Vallejo. While at Kaiser, Ginger completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Management from St. Mary’s College, Moraga.Ginger and her late husband, Paul, lived for many years in Martinez, CA. They purchased a second home in Palm Desert in 2004, moving permanently in 2016. After Paul’s passing in 2017, Ginger adopted a greyhound rescue named Chase and he was her constant companion.Ginger was a faithful member of St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church in Palm Desert and a devoted member of the Daughters of the King, committing to a life of prayer, service and evangelism.She is survived by her son, Paul Jones and his wife Rhonda, her grandchildren, Corina and Mason Jones, all of Martinez; sister-in-law Pam Jones (Steve Herskovitz) of San Carlos, and their children, Katie, Allie and Sam Herskovitz. Ginger was preceded in death by husband, Paul, and her sister, Ann.Celebration of Life Services will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 11 a.m. at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church, Palm Desert.
