Gilberto Vera, Jr

March 2, 1983 — July 1, 2024

It is with heavy hearts, and sadness that we announce the passing of Gilbert Vera Jr., known affectionately to all as Gil, Tito and Daddy. Gilbert was a man whose laughter was as contagious as his generosity. He could light up a room with his wit and warmth, leaving a trail of smiles wherever he went. Born on March 2nd, 1983 in the heart of Los Angeles.

Gilberts life was a vibrant melody that echoed through his actions, conversations, and interactions of those around him and beyond until his passing on July 1, 2024. Gilbert was the life of every party, and if parties had a hall of fame, he’d be the first inductee. His heart was so big it could have its own zip code, and he was the type of guy who’d give you the shirt off his back—even if it was his favorite shirt. His Yankee shirts were his favorite though. Speaking of which, he was a die-hard sports fan. Yankees, Dodgers, Lakers —you name it, he never missed a game. He'd cheer and show so much excitement with the best of them, and if armchair coaching were a professional sport, he'd have won the championship every season. Sports was definitely his passion.

Gilbert's legacy is not just in the stories that will be told or the memories that will be cherished, but in the laughter that will echo in the hearts of those who knew him. He was a loving Son, Brother, Husband and Father. He was a one-man comedy show, a friend who always had your back, and a Father whose love was as boundless as his humor. So here's to Gilbert Vera Jr., a man who was so greatly loved and lived life with the volume turned all the way up. While the final curtain may have fallen, the encore will continue in the lives he touched, the people the jokes he told, and the love he shared. Always in our heart, please share a laugh, and remember Gilbert, his tune will play on forever in our hearts.
