Gilbert Gustavo Montoya

Gilbert Gustavo Montoya, age 68, born in California on April 10th, 1954, passed away
unexpectedly on October 28th, 2022.

He resided in Lakewood, CA with his wife, Nenette, at the time of his passing.

Gilbert was the youngest of three sons born to Gustavo and Oclydes "Bea" Montoya of Taos,
NM.

His older brothers, LeRoy and Ruben Montoya, and his parents all preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Nenette Columna, and his three children: daughter Tina Bryant and
her husband, Chris, along with their children Reese, Riley and Raygan. His son Jason Montoya.
And his stepson, Karan Horneman, along with his husband Taylor.

He is also survived by his niece, Jamie Montoya, daughter of Ruben Montoya.

Gilbert was passionate about the aerospace industry and dedicated most of his working life to
it. He spent the last 15 years working alongside great colleagues at SpaceX and took great pride
in his work. Gilbert worked on numerous projects which are sure to leave a lasting impact far
beyond this earth.

The service arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, 4471 Lincoln Ave. Cypress,
CA.

His viewing will be held at the Forest Lawn Main Building on Wednesday, November 16th from
10:00am to 8:00pm.

The funeral service will be held at the Forest Lawn Patriots Chapel on Thursday, November 17th
from 11:00am to 12:00pm.

Luncheon to follow at 12:30pm at The Centre, 5000 Clark Ave., Lakewood, CA 90712.

He will be deeply missed by his family, especially his wife, children, grandchildren, friends,
neighbors, co-workers, and all who knew him.

The family of Gilbert Montoya wishes to extend their sincere thanks to all the nurses and care
