Jerry was born on October 17, 1941, to Luigi and Theresa Sepe of Waterbury, Connecticut. Jerry attended Russell elementary and graduated from Wilby high School. Jerry then attended Post College and UCONN. Jerry had a love of the mechanical sciences and often stated how he was born 50 years too late. Jerry could diagnose a problem of any automobile and could repair any problem or know where to get it repaired. He was also quite skilled with his wood working abilities and would always be working around the house. Jerry also shared a love of steam powered locomotives to the point of once having a quite impressive model railroading set up staged in his Connecticut home's basement. Jerry also had a love of Christmas and would painstakingly and meticoulsy, with help from Charlotte, always deck the house out for the Christmas Season. That love of Christmas and everything beautiful about Christmas was lovingly handed down to his son and daughter. Jerry also took time to support his children by helping with homework, building a great swing set in the backyard, and coaching their baseball and basketball teams. He was also a doting grandfather, a title he cherished, as he loved attending his grandchildren's birthday parties, school assemblies and plays, and host summer BBQs and pool parties. Jerry, a stand up bass player, loved music and it was constantly being played in the house, everything from Glen Miller to the Beatles, the Carpenters and Abba, and of course during the Christmas Season various artists, such as Manheim Steamroller, Nat King Cole, Johnny Mathis, and Mitch Miller was frequently heard.
Jerry's career spanned working as a machinist producing engines for Pratt and Whitney, to working as an office machine technician for Friden Inc. and Singer Corporation, to eventually opening his own computer repair and retail business. Jerry once developed and machined a part in his basement workshop that was eventually patented by Friden Inc.
Jerry served proudly in the 26th (Yankee) Infantry Division in Connecticut Army National Guard from 1963 to his Honorable Discharge in 1969. Jerry was sent to the U.S. Army Medical Training Center, or USAMTC, at Fort Sam Houston, in Texas and successfully attained the military occupational specialty of Medical Specialist.
