Geraldine "Jerri" Medina

Geraldine ("Jerri") Medina went home to the Lord on August 8, 2014, at age 76, after a courageous 5-month battle with cancer.

Jerri was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on May 29, 1938, to the late Louis and Rose Rieger. The family settled in California when Jerri was 5. She attended Excelsior High School in Norwalk, where she met the love of her life, Ramon Joseph ("Ray") Medina. Ray and Jerri built their life together in Artesia, where they raised 6 children. Known for her loving heart, great smile and laugh, Jerri loved her children and grandchildren, who were a source of great pride.

Jerri was preceded in death by husband Ray in 1996 and son Thomas Salvador Medina in 2007. She is survived by sons Ray Luis Medina (Diane), Bobby Joseph Medina (DeAnn), and John Medina (Mary) of Artesia, daughter Diana Jankay (Tom), and son Ronny Joseph Medina. She is also survived by her grandchildren Tommy Medina, Jennifer Medina, Michelle Apostle (Matthew), Antoinette Medina, Michael Medina, Ryan Medina, Ariel Medina, Jacob Medina, Travis Jankay, Tyler Jankay, Nicole Medina and Abigail Jankay; twin sister Jackie Gomes, brother Harry Rieger (Diane); and numerous nieces and nephews.
