Gerald Moreth, affectionately known as Jerry, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2026, in Pasadena, California. Born on September 19, 1939, in Springfield, Illinois, Jerry lived a life marked by dedication, love, and an enduring pride in his Italian heritage.
Jerry’s career was a testament to his unwavering work ethic and commitment. Beginning humbly as a parts and tire salesman, he devoted 45 years to Pep Boys, steadily advancing to the position of District Manager. His colleagues remembered him as tough but well-liked—a leader who commanded respect and inspired loyalty throughout his tenure.
Beyond his professional achievements, Jerry was a devoted family man. He was a loving husband to his wife and the love of his life, Emily, and a steadfast father to his children: Perry, Rick, and Misty. Though known to be firm and disciplined with his kids, those close to Jerry understood that beneath his stern exterior lay a big heart full of care and pride. His family was the center of his world, and he treasured moments spent with them above all else.
Jerry’s passions extended into his personal life as well. He found joy in attending car shows, celebrating the beauty and craftsmanship of automobiles. Evenings often found him engaged in friendly games of pool, unwinding in the jacuzzi, or indulging his culinary skills by cooking his cherished Italian dishes. A true sports enthusiast, he was an avid fan of the Dodgers and Lakers, and he also held a special fondness for watching The Godfather movies—an emblem of his cultural pride and taste.
Jerry’s legacy lives on in his beloved grandchildren: Brittney, Dominic, Gabrielle, Bellina, and Alexis, and great grandchildren, Riley, London, Lilly, Levi, William and Dean who carry forward his spirit and values. His family and friends will remember him not only for his strength and determination but for the warmth and love he consistently shared.
