Georgia Winston Jones, 98, born on September 15, 1923, in Beaumont, TX, United States, passed away October 30, 2021. She resided in Los Angeles, CA at the time of her passing. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Cypress, California.
Georgia loved dancing! Even when she was unable to walk, she moved her body to the rhythm of the music to dance.
Georgia worked as a cocktail waitress all her life. She worked at some of the most iconic jazz nightclubs in Los Angeles: The Memory Lane Supper Club, The Pied Piper, Marty's on the Hill, The Crooked Cue, and The Pied Piper. She served famous people like Gregory Peck, Sammy Davis Jr., and Marlon Brando. She worked with famed musicians, Little Esther Phillips, Arthur Prysock, and Sarah Vaughn. She laughed with the likes of Redd Foxx, Leroy and Skillet, and Richard Pryor...and when she was young, she had the pleasure of dancing with Katherine Dunham.
Her 3 children, Paul, Brenda, and Steven were her joy and she raised them in a home with many sounds of music, electric energy and a foundation of love. She is memorable and her infectious smile and jazzy hats say it all - she is Georgia "Rose" dancing with the stars!
