George was born on August 22, 1926 and passed away on December 7, 2014. George was a resident of Mecca, California.
He is survived by his two sons, George F. Wise and Bruce E. Wise who reside in Mecca Ca. George is also survived by his Daughter-in-law Maria G. Wise, Grandson Mark A. Wise, and two Great Granddaughter's, Julia P. Wise and Markel McMellon.
George graduated from Coachella Valley High School earning the honors of Valedictorian and Athlete of the Year. He was tested under the Military's V12 Program and entered the United States Navy in the Officers Candidate Program with a full Scholarship to the University of Southern California. He graduated USC with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. George finished his commitment as an Officer in the Navy until the end of WWII. He then traveled to Venezuela, where he learned the Spanish Language and worked as a Petroleum Engineer for Standard Oil Company of New Jersey for 5 years. When George returned to the United States, he taught A/C Refrigeration and Real Estate Appraisal at The College of the Desert for a short time. He owned and operated a Date Ranch in Mecca Ca. and then went to work for the County of Riverside's Assessors Office from where he retired after 31 years. George was married to Julia D. Wise until her death in 1997. She was the love of his life. There are far too many things to list, from coaching Little League Baseball, to Court Mediation, to earning his Paralegal Certificate at nearly 70 years of age.
George Wise had many, many accomplishments, and was a devoted father and family man. At Poor Richards Store in Mecca Ca., he was a regular at the "Coffee Club" and his conversations were Legendary. He loved to talk to anyone and everyone. George will be remembered, and most certainly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Graveside service held, Wednesday, 12/17/14 at 9:00 a.m. at Coachella Valley Cemetery, Coachella, Ca. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn Indio.
