George Wejbe

September 29, 1946 — November 14, 2017

George Wejbe was born in Barranquilla Columbia on September 29, 1946 and passed away November 14, 2017. George grew up in Hollywood California where his parents Santander (Santos) and Nur owned several Texaco and Shell gas stations along with owning and managing apartment and commercial rental properties. As a young boy he learned how to work on cars with his father and uncle whom were both mechanics at their gas stations. This is where he learned his passion for cars. Not excluding building and racing go carts.George fell in love with making cars go FAST. George attended and graduated from Hollywood High School. He was in the Elskers Club and was always known to have the coolest and fastest cars. While street racing on Van Nuys Boulevard George met and then married Janet Grizell. They had two daughters, Jennifer and Joy. During this time he owned and operated an Exon station in Agoura Hills and worked as a mechanic at various dealerships. In 1980 George met his second wife Lori and they were married in 1985 at Pepperdine University in Malibu California. George began building and drag racing with National Hot Rod Association all over the country. He had numerous sponsors, Oldsmobile, Pennzoil, Firestone, A1 transmissions,..... all while opening and running a furniture store in Sherman Oaks. Three daughters then came along, Michelean, Angelean and Jolean. Although George was a very involved father, his passion for drag racing, building custom motorcycles or modifying and riding Harleys never ceased. Lori once asked him why and he said, "Racing is in my Blood". At the time of George's passing he resided in Leona Valley, California with his family always by his side. He was a One Of a Kind Man, Friend, Husband and Father. He will be greatly missed.
