George O. Weiskopf, 76, of Kingston, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Mass General Hospital following a hard struggle with Leukemia.
He was born on January 27, 1939 in Haverhill, MA the son of the late, Joseph and Marjorie (Cutler) Weiskopf. He was raised and educated in Haverhill and graduated from Haverhill High School, Class of 1955. He had attended Northeastern University.
George worked for 40 years at the former Western Electric in No. Andover and retired as an engineer.
He played on the Western Electric Soccer Team for many years as a goalie. He was a member of the 1955 State Championship Football Team at Haverhill High School. An avid sports enthusiast, he especially loved football and baseball. He enjoyed attending as many sporting events of his children when they were growing up. He had a passion for buying and selling antiques and riding his motorcycle, until his illness prevented it. Above all else, his family meant everything to him and he loved spending time with them. He especially adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His family will always remember the vacation that he took them on to Walt Disney World in 2000, "Best Vacation Ever". George and his wife, Leslie spent their honeymoon in Acapulco and vacationed there every year since then.
George is survived by his wife of 37 years, Leslie A. (Blancher) Weiskopf of Kingston, NH, his daughter, Cheryl Fenoli and husband, Rick of Virginia, his sons; Kevin Weiskopf and his wife, Jeannie of Haverhill, MA, Howard Dolan and his wife, Tami of Manchester, NH, William Dolan and his fiancé, Brenda Beaulieu of Lee, NH, his sister, Karen Cushing and her husband, John of Stratham, NH. Seven grandsons, two great-granddaughters, one great-grandson and several cousins also survive him.
Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 from 1 – 4 PM at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street (Rt. 121A), Plaistow, NH 03865. Funeral services will be on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
