Madbury, NH: George E. Marshall, Sr., 62, of Madbury, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Hyder Family Hospice House, Dover, NH.

George was born on November 20, 1950 in Haverhill, MA.  The son of the late William and Louise (Sawyer) Marshall, he was raised and educated in Ward Hill.

He served his country in the U.S Army and was honorably discharged.

George worked for Foss Manufacturing in Ward Hill and then in Hampton, NH as a machine operator for 40 years.  He always considered his co-workers at Foss to be his work family and friends.

George was an outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.  Above all, George enjoyed spending time with his family every chance he got.

George’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Hyder Family Hospice House for the loving care showed to George during his final days.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Gayle (Carleton) Marshall of Madbury; sons, G. Edward Marshall, Jr. of Moultonborough, NH and Aaron B. Marshall and wife, Bethany of Madbury, NH; his daughter, Kimberly Gard of Pembroke, NH; brothers, Ronald Marshall of Buckeye, AZ and William Marshall of Aurora, CO; sisters, Charlotte Mirabito and husband, Larry of Phoenix, AZ, Karen Chase and husband Kyle of Avondale, AZ, and Mary Robinson and husband Calvin of Bradford, MA; nine grandchildren, Brandy, Brittany, and Alysha Gard, Jared, Tiffany, Christopher, Teaghan, Tawny, and Abbey Rose Marshall; one great-granddaughter, Daphne Gayle Gard. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive him.

Friends and family are invited to call on Thursday, March 14, 2013 from 5:00 to 6:45 PM at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street Plaistow, NH.  A funeral service with Army military honors will follow directly after at 7PM at the funeral home.

Donations may be made in his name to Hyder Family Hospice House, 285 County Farm Road, Dover, NH 03820.
