George D. Knudson

George Knudson, 75, born in Klamath Falls, OR, United States, passed away February 9, 2026. He resided in Cathedral City, CA at the time of his passing. Arrangements are under the care of Forest Lawn, Cathedral City, CA.

George attended San Lorenzo High School (San Lorenzo, CA), Pacific Lutheran University (Parkland, WA), and Luther Seminary (St. Paul, MN), earning his M.Div. degree. He served as a pastor in Brownton, MN until leaving the ministry in 1987 and moving to Minneapolis, where he worked in Customer Relations for several companies. He resided in Minneapolis until 1997, at which time he moved to Newark, CA. For more than two decades he was an active member of First Lutheran Church in Palo Alto. In 2019 he retired to Cathedral City. Soon afterward he began regularly attending St. Margaret's Episcopal Church in nearby Palm Desert.

George was partnered with Wayne Studer for more than 45 years. They married in 2008.

George is survived by his husband Wayne Studer, his brother Richard Knudson, his sister-in-law Sheryl Knudson, his niece Sydney Funk, and her husband A.J. Funk.
